DC Announces Batman Day for September 15

DC is gearing up for Batman Day 2018 and had just released some new details for fans. The holiday will take place on September 15, 2018 and include Batman-themed events at comic book shops, bookstores, schools and libraries worldwide.

Fans who visit retailers participating in Batman Day will receive the first chapter of Batman: White Knight, written and drawn by Sean Murphy, a month ahead of the collected edition release. The book will also feature a preview of another upcoming DC Black Label, Batman: Damned by Brian Azzarello and Lee Bermejo. Younger Bat-fans can pick up a free copy of the first chapter of Batman: A Lot of Li’l Gotham. DC is also providing retailers access to an online activity kit.

Digital readers are in for a treat with the Batman Day digital sale, which will last September 11-17. The event will include hundreds of Batman eBooks on sale for $4.99 or $5.99 on ReadDC.com, comiXology.com, Google Play, Amazon Kindle, Barnes & Noble Nook and iTunes.

Following Batman Day this year, DC will commemorate the Dark Knight’s 80th anniversary with a year-long celebration in 2019. Details are scarce, but DC will celebrating the publishing milestone of Detective Comics’ 1,000th issue. DC will be releasing more details on the year-long celebration in the coming months.
