Sony’s ‘Silver & Black’ to be Split Into Two Separate Movies
Sony has decided to stop moving forward with the team-up movie Silver & Black. But it’s not all bad news, as the characters will each get their own movie.
The original was going to follow Silver Sable and Black Cat, but now the project has been officially separated into two separate movies. Gina Prince-Bythewood–who made history as the first Black woman to helm a superhero film–is expected to depart as director, but nothing has been confirmed yet. Sony is reportedly looking to hire another female director if that is the case.

The studio is set to release Venom in October, and has plans for other projects such as Morbius, Silk, Jackpot, and Nightwatch. Sony still has access to about 900 Marvel characters so it would not be a surprise if they continue to grow their superhero universe.
