DC Universe’s Doom Patrol has added another key character, Victor Stone a.k.a. Cyborg, and he will be portrayed by Joivan Wade.
According to Deadline, Wade’s Victor Stone is the “charming and sarcastic half-human, half-machine superhero.”
Written by Jeremy Carver, Doom Patrol is a reimagining of a beloved group of DC characters, originally written and drawn by Arnold Drake, Bob Haney and Bruno Premiani. The main characters include Robotman, Negative Man, Elasti-Woman and Crazy Jane; led by modern-day mad scientist, Dr. Niles Caulder, they are called together by Cyborg.
Wade’s past acting credits include Netflix’s The Weekend Movie and most recently, Universal’s The First Purge, which became Blumhouse’s highest grossing of the Purge franchise.
Wade will join previously announced cast members April Bowlby as Elasti-Woman and Diane Guerrero as Crazy Jane.
An exact release date for Doom Patrol hasn’t been set, however it’s expected to premiere on the DC Universe streaming service in 2019.
