‘Digimon’ Getting New RPG Game in Honor of 20th Anniversary
“Digimon, digital monsters, Digimon are the champions!” Since their original creation back in 1997, Digimon have grown into a global franchise that spans virtual pets, manga, video games, films, a trading cards, and of the course, the well watched and loved anime. 2019 will be the 20th anniversary of the anime’s release and in honor of it, the iconic monsters from the “Digital World” will be getting a new survival simulation RPG to be titled Digimon Survive.
Gamers will get to play as lost and stranded teenager Takuma who along with reptile Digimon Agumon will try to find a way out of the alternate dimension he is trapped in. Players must fight to avoid destruction of death on their journey and must do everything in their power to keep not only themselves alive, but other characters they meet along the way as well. The game will be playable on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One.
