Image Comics’ ‘Saga’ Has Been Put On An Indefinite Hiatus
Written by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples, “Saga” is a space opera/fantasy series that tells the tale of Alana and Marko, star-crossed loves of different extraterrestrial races they attempt to evade authorities from both sides while caring for their small daughter Hazel.
The first issue was published on March 14, 2012 and sold out its first printing and has been a consistent seller ever since.
In the letter column to Saga No. 54, Vaughan wrote, “After fifty-four issues and over 1,200 consecutive pages of sequential storytelling together, Fiona and I have decided to take an extended break before we eventually reunite with Saga #55. And unlike our usual three months of ‘Vacationanza’ between arcs, we plan to pause publication of this series for at least the next year.” Vagun assured that he and Staples have every intention on finishing the series, but that they want to ensure they are making the best comic they can and because of that they are taking in his own words, an “intermission”.
