This Saturday night at the SyFy’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con, it was announced that Wynonna Earp has been renewed for a fourth season, just a week after season three’s premiere (an extended preview was released on Monday ahead of the Friday night show).

Creator and showrunner Emily Andras expressed her joy and excitement of the Wynonna Earp team over the announcement at SDCC. Andras said:

“We are absolutely delighted that Wynonna Earp has been renewed for a fourth season. We are so grateful to Syfy for their relentless and ferocious support of the series and the ‘Harper’ fandom.”

Even if Wynonna Earp is not a “breakout” regarding ratings, it has become a “cult favourite” and “social media powerhouse” that has been compared to Buffy the Vampire Slayer for its portrayal of female characters.
