TV and Digital Adaptations for ‘Skin&Earth’ Comic by Singer Lights in the Works from eOne

Entertainment One has officially acquired the rights to the graphic comics series Skin&Earth by Alternative singer Lights with intentions of adapting it for television as well as digital and gaming content.

The series is set in a post-apocalyptic future and was released in July of 2017 alongside the singer’s fourth studio album of the same name. The series consists of six issues and tell the story of Enaia Jin, who ends up traveling into a fantasy world that includes romance, cults, gods and mortals while attempting to find her own true nature.

In an inteview with SweetyHigh, Lights talked about wanting to do something like this for years. The singer said, “I’m just such a fan of both mediums, so why not be the first one to really do it? It’s been done slightly in a couple of ways before, but I don’t think it’s been done to this degree, so closely tied to an album and certainly not with a woman or in pop music.”

Lights wrote both the comic and the album at the same time and the two draw on each other, although technically speaking, the 14 song album is based on the comic and not the other way around.

Have you read the series or listened to the album? How did you feel about them? Let us know how in the comments below!
