We are in the midst of San Diego Comic Con and the weekend has been full of nerdy and geek culture goodies including the new launch trailer for Marvel Powers United VR.

The trailer’s intended demographic seems to be adult players; it’s got a large nostalgia factor, harkening back to costumed children in 1989 who are clearly wishing their imagined powers were real, before jumping back into present day with grownup fans getting to live out those childhood dreams in virtual reality.

The new trailer can be seen below:

The bundle will cost around $399 and will include a digitial version of the game, along with the special edition Oculus Rift and Oculus Touch. The headset and touch controllers will allow players to show off their various superpowers including “blasting enemies with photon beams” and “slicing away with dual katanas.”  If you already own the headset and controllers, then the game on its own is going to cost you around $39.99.

The game is slated to include ten locations (Sakaar Arena, Knowhere Marketplace, Asgard, Jotunheim, The Palace of Attilan, Downtown New York, the Dark Dimension, the X-Mansion Hangar, Halfworld and Wakanda) and the lineup of playable characters are 18 of Marvel’s favorite heroes:

  • Spider-Man
  • Black Panther
  • Doctor Strange
  • Storm
  • Thor
  • Star-Lord
  • Iceman
  • Gamora
  • Wolverine
  • Captain America
  • Black Bolt
  • Crystal
  • Deadpool
  • The Hulk
  • Captain Marvel
  • Rocket Raccoon
  • Hawkeye
  • Black Widow
