Lewis Tan Cast as Series Regular in Netflix Martial Arts Drama ‘Wu Assassins’; Katheryn Winnick Also Joins
Into the Badlands star, Lewis Tan is gearing up for his next Netflix venture, Wu Assassins. Tan will join the previously cast Iko Uwais and Byron Mann.
Tan will portray Lu Xin Lee, “a suave, fierce intelligent leader who owns and operates his own custom garage a la West Coast Customs, and runs a car theft ring for the Triad.”
Vikings star, Katheryn Winnick has also been added as a series regular alongside Tan. Winnick’s character is Christine C.G. Gavin, “an undercover cop caught in the middle of a gang war that’s breaking out in Chinatown”.

Also joining Tan and Winnick are Tommy Flanagan (Sons of Anarchy) and Tzi Ma (Meditation Park). Flanagan will play an international crime boss named Alec McCullough, while Ma will portray Mr. Young, a Chinatown grocery store owner.
Penned by John Wirth (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) who is also showrunner, Wu Assassins is set in San Francisco’s Chinatown and is a martial arts drama with supernatural aspects.
Stephen Fung will direct the first two episodes and in addition to starring, Uwais will serve as producer, stunt coordinator and lead martial arts/fight coordinator.
Production for Wu Assassins is set to begin in August.
