Zazie Beetz in Talks to Join Joaquin Phoenix in Standalone ‘Joker’ Film
Atlanta and Deadpool 2 star, Zazie Beetz is in talks to team-up with Joaquin Phoenix in the standalone Joker origin film.
The Warner Bros. flick will see Beetz join Phoenix, who is set to portray one of Batman’s greatest foes and will be directed by Todd Phillips (The Hangover). If the negotiations go through, we will see Beetz portraying a single mother who’s gained the attention of the maniacal villain.

Beetz can next be seen alongside Natalie Portman in Noah Hawley’s upcoming sci-fi drama and in Steven Soderbergh’s High Flying Bird.
