James Wan
The pair first collaborated on Insidious, which saw Wan direct and Blum produce and the pair have developed a relationship since. Wan stated:
“I had such a great time working together with Jason on Insidious, a film that did a lot of good for both of us…I don’t forget where I started from and I’m grateful and appreciative of Jason. We’ve been looking for something to collaborate on again since.”
With Gerard Johnstone (Housebound) in the director’s chair, Wan describes the project as a commentary on the relationship we have with technology, with black humor. The concept had been one Wan had been toiling with for a while. Blum notes a factor in relation to the the directorial choice emerged from the need to find an individual who was able to “…do the thrills and set pieces but who also has a cheeky approach.”
Both Wan and Blum are set to attend Comic Con in San Diego. Wan is set to discuss the Warner Bros. DCEU flick, Aquaman and The Nun, which is the latest offering from the Conjuring movie universe. Blum will be attending the convention in relation to M. Night Shyamalan’s, Glass, the Halloween reboot, as well as The Purge television show.
