Melissa Fumero & Stephanie Beatriz Are Set To Guest Star in ‘One Day at a Time’
La familia Alvarez keeps growing, and what better way to do so by adding to of our favourite latinas out there, Melissa Fumero and Stephanie Beatriz, both from the praised and beloved Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
A couple of days ago, Fumero – Amy Santiago on B99– shared through her Twitter account that she, alongside Beatriz – Rosa Díaz on B99 – will be guest stars in season 3 of Netflix’s One Day at a Time.

This news was later confirmed by the Netflix Original through their Twitter account, and Entertainment Weekly got the exclusive as to who exactly would they be playing in the upcoming season.
They will be guest starring in the same episode that will feature Gloria Estefan –who will play Lydia’s sister – all three of them as members of the Alvarez family: Fumero as Estrellita, a cousin Penelope used to be close with, until Lydia and Estrellita’s mom — played by Stefan — developed a rift that never quite healed. Meanwhile, Beatriz will play Pilar, another cousin of Penelope’s, who Elena believes is gay and wants to help come out to the family.
This will certainly is a cause for celebration, especially after Brooklyn Nine-Nine revival through NBC just a couple of weeks ago.
