‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’ Set To A $80 Million Opening Weekend

Ant-Man and The Wasp has finally premiered almost in every corner around the world, and by almost every estimation out there, it seems like the film is on its way to make a total of $83.7 million in its opening weekend.

The 20th Marvel film in their ten years of existence, starring Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lily as Ant-Man and Wasp respectively, earned an estimated $33.8 million on Friday alone, as well as $11.5 million in Thursday previews.

In earlier projections for the film, Disney put a range on the $70 million to $85 million mark, so as it seems, everything is going according to plan.

The “original” Ant-Man opened to $57 million on its opening weekend two years ago and when their time was done, it made a total of $519 million worldwide. If estimates hold, Ant-Man and the Wasp could even top that number by the end of it’s run.
