Sheridan Pierce & Raúl Castillo Set to Recur in Season 3 of ‘One Day At A Time’
Renewed for a season three on Netflix, One Day At A Time has upped Sheridan Pierce and added Raúl Castillo in recurring roles.
Pierce previously appeared in a few episodes in season 2 and is returning to the series in her role as Syd, Elena’s girlfriend. Castillo will play a new character named Mateo, described as a dad friend of Penelope’s from school. Past roles for the two actors includes Pierce in her recurring role as Abigail in Netflix’s Dear White People and Castillo starred in Sundance film, We the Animals, directed by Jeremiah Zagar.

Netflix’s One Day At A Time is a reboot of the 1970s classic sitcom originally developed by Norman Lear. One Day At A Time is described as following “three generations of a Cuban-American family navigating the ups and downs of life” – a newly-single mom and military veteran, her “two strong-willed, mega-millennial children” and her “old-school mother”.
The series stars Justina Machado, Rita Moreno, Isabella Gomez, Stephen Tobolowsky, Todd Grinnell, and Marcel Ruiz. Produced by Sony Television Productions, Norman Lear executive produces alongside Gloria Calderon Kellett and Mike Royce, who are also co-show runners.
