Kelvin Harrison Jr. is set to star in “Waves” alongside Taylor Russell with Sterling K.Brown and Lucas Hedges in negotiations to also join the cast. The film will see the star reunite with director Trey Edward Shults. Most recently, Harrison starred in the post-apocalyptic thriller, It Comes at Night alongside starred Joel Edgerton and Carmen Ejogo, which Shults directed. Details about the role Harrison will play are yet to be released.
The film is a dramatic musical that tells the story of two young couples “as they navigate the emotional minefield of growing up and falling in love”. The project includes Academy Award winners Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross who will be scoring the film. With music set to play an important role in the film, the musical arrangement is described as a combination of “iconic contemporary songs alongside an original score”.
Waves is set to be produced by Kevin Turen and Jim Wilson.
