New Martial Arts Drama Staring Iko Uwais ‘Wu Assassasians’ Coming to Netflix
If you haven’t been getting your fill of martial arts dramas intercepted with elements of sci-fi and a little bit of crime sprinkled in for fun, you won’t be waiting for too much longer as Netflix has greenlit ten episodes of a new series to be titled Wu Assassins with Iko Uwais and Byron Mann set to star.
Wu Assassins is set in Chinatown in San Francisco and is a martial arts crime series with supernatural elements. Uwais will play Kai Jin, the latest and last Wu Assassin, chosen to gather up the powers of an ancient triad and restore balance and serenity once more. Mann will play Uncle Six.
The show is being produced by John Wirth, Flame Ventures’ Tony Krantz, and Nomadic Pictures with Stephen Fung directing the first two episodes, and Krantz doing another. Uwais will also serve as a producer, the lead martial arts/fight choreographer, and a stunt coordinator on top of being the series’ lead.
