Omigod, omigod you guys!  It’s time to break out the ol’ bend and snap, because Legally Blonde is returning for a third movie with Reese Witherspoon reprising the role as the charismatic and intelligent Elle Woods.  This threequel is set to air on Valentine’s Day in 2020.

Just yesterday, Reese Witherspoon posted on Instagram making this announcement in-character as Elle donning in her signature pink and relaxing in the pool Elle Woods style.

Screenwriters for the first film Kirsten “Kiwi” Smith and Karen McCullah are in the closing talks to secure their contribution to penning the script.  Also from the original movie, producer Marc Platt and his Platt Productions president Adam Siegel are on board to produce with Witherspoon also taking that responsibility beside them.  As of now, a director has not yet been announced.
