New Writers are Attached to Suicide Squad’s Sequel
Warner Bros. is still moving full steam ahead with its Suicide Squad sequel. Details on the film’s development remain relatively scarce. Yet, new information has emerged in regards to who will script the next adventure for the band of misfits. As THR reports, David Bar Katz and Todd Stashwick are co-writing the film. Their partner in this endeavor is the film’s director, Gavin O’Connor (The Accountant).
Katz is known for his script adaptation of Mark Seal’s The Man in the Rockefeller Suit novel. Stashwick has a different background, having appeared in roles on Gotham and 12 Monkeys. Unfortunately, his sole writing credit is unlikely to ever see the light of day; he was working with Amy Hennig’s (Uncharted creator) team on Electronic Arts’ recently cancelled Star Wars title.

Stashwick revealed the news during the Popcorn Talk podcast. Apparently, DC’s President and CCO Geoff Johns is aiding in the script’s crafting as well. Currently, Suicide Squad is still without an official release date.
