Battlefield V’s Battle Royale Mode Announced

E3 2018 is currently underway, and everyone should already have their bets placed for how many games will reveal a Battle Royale mode. For those keeping count, list Battlefield V as the first mark on your counter. Simply dubbed “Royale,” per the EA Play presentation, DICE isn’t revealing specifics about Battlefield’s newest multiplayer mode. Rather, details are to surface sometime later this year, probably closer to the game’s October release date. The mode won’t be available until “after launch.”

What the studio did stress, though, is the increased pace for Battlefield V’s usual multiplayer modes. For instance, heavy turrets are no longer stationary; player will have the option to pick them up. Additionally, the destruction system is now “more impactful than ever.”

While onstage, the developers were also sure to inform the audience that loot boxes and premium passes won’t be a cause for concern. This entry in the series features neither of the two controversial purchase options.

Battlefield V hits PC, PS4, and Xbox One on October 19.
