‘American Gods’ Season 2 Casts Devery Jacobs & Kahyun Kim in Key Roles

The first season of American Gods was definitely an impressive start to an amazing fantasy series based on Neil Gaiman’s novel of the same name. From the gritty and unpredictable storylines to the larger-than-life characters, it was no surprise when it was greenlit for a second season. Now, a report from Deadline is giving us insight on who will be joining on already star-studded cast of actors.

Devery Jacobs and Kahyun Kim have officially been added to the cast of season two. Not only does this up the percetnage of women in the show but also expands the diversity since they both are women of color.

Devery Jacobs will portray a character named Sam Black Crow, a college student who is said to be spiritually cynical even though she claims to believe in so much. She lives life with fierce confidence and openness, selling the chainsaw art she carves by the roadside for extra money.

Gillian Anderson will not be returnig to portray the New God known as Media. In her place, Kahyun Kim will join the cast as New Media. This Goddess of global content is a cyberspace chameleon and a master of manipulation. We are definitely anxious to see how these new characters will fit into the larger narrative and if they will be allies to Shadow Moon or help Mr. World.
