‘Wonder Woman 2’ Filming Era Teased by Geoff Johns and Patty Jenkins

Set to release November 1st, 2019 the sequel to the box office hit Wonder Woman has been teased by executive producer and DC Entertainment president and chief creative officer, Geoff Johns as well as returning director Patty Jenkins. Suggesting a 1980s title or setting for the film that last saw Diana Prince in 1917 during World War I.

Written by Patty Jenkins, Geoff Johns, and Dave Callaham. Returning to her role as Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot will be joined by Pedro Pascal (Narcos, Game of Thrones) and Kristen Wiig who is set to introduce and play the iconic villainous Cheetah who was first introduced in the comics in 1943. Set during the Cold War possibly the year 1984, it will be interesting to see where we find the character mentally after the events of Wonder Woman and her influence on huge worldly events – Did anyone mention a possible nuclear war?

Starring Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Connie Nielsen and Robin Wright released by Warner Bros, Wonder Woman was a huge success. Setting numerous records grossing $821 million worldwide and becoming the top-grossing film of all time from a female filmmaker with solo directing duties. The DC cinematic universe is set to expand with James Wan’s Aquaman, starring Jason Momoa and Amber Heard, opening Dec. 21, Shazam! set for release on April 5, 2019, and a Flash film in the works from directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein.
