According to Variety, Paramount’s live-action/animation hybrid Sonic the Hedgehog movie is coming and it will feature Westworld star, James Marsden, as the lead.
Paramount acquired the rights to the classic game last year and it seems that the casting phase is well underway, with rumours that Ant-Man and the Wasp actor, Paul Rudd, is set to co-star alongside Marsden.
The original Sonic video game was launched back in 1991 and to date, the franchise has sold over 360 million copies, including physical games for consoles, and digital games for tablets and mobile.
Set to be directed by Jeff Fowler, the upcoming film will mark the first time that Sonic has been adapted for the silver screen.
