Chris O’Dowd Replaced As Tigger In ‘Christopher Robin’ By Original Voice Actor Jim Cummings
With Christopher Robin only a few months away from it’s August release, Disney is ramping up its promotion with new trailers and posters. In the latest trailer, however, it was revealed that a casting change was made for the upcoming film. Chris O’Dowd would no longer be voicing Tigger, and Jim Cummings, his longtime voice actor, is returning for the character.
Cummings’ iconic Tigger voice can heard in the latest trailer along with the rest of the Hundred Acre Wood gang. In the video description for the trailer, it also lists Jim Cummings as both Pooh and Tigger. Cummings was already announced to be voicing Winnie the Pooh, as seen in the first trailer, but fans were found disappointed to find that Tigger was recast with another actor.
There’s no word on why O’Dowd was replaced, though it’s possible O’Dowd’s voice just wasn’t working out and he wasn’t right for the part. Fans can rejoice that Cummings, who many consider to be the Tigger, is back as the pouncing goofball.
Christopher Robin‘s voice cast includes Jim Cummings as Pooh and Tigger, Brad Garrett as Eeyore, Nick Mohammed as Piglet, Toby Jones as Owl, Peter Capaldi as Rabbit, and Sophie Okonedo as Kanga.
In the film, Christopher Robin, the little boy from the Winnie-the-Pooh stories, is now all grown up and has lost all sense of imagination. Pooh and his friends from the Hundred Acre Wood re-enter Christopher’s life to help him find it again.
