‘Incredibles 2’ Is on Track For A $140Million+ Debut & To Have Best Domestic Opening For an Animated Film of All Time
The long awaited sequel film Incredibles 2 is less than a month away and the excitement is clearly building as ticket sales for the film grow by the minute. Co-Owned by Disney and Pixar, the film is reportedly on track for a North American box-office debut of more than $140 million, exceeding the previous record for an animated film launch of $135 million currently held by fellow Pixar film Finding Dory. Incredibles 2 will be the summer season’s first animated tentpole and if it passes Finding Dory‘s launch numbers, it will become the top domestic opening of all time for an animated film.
Incredibles 2 is set to start only moments after where its predecessor left off and will follow the Parr family as they attempt to find the balance between a normal life and being superheroes all while being placed up against a new villain, Screenslaver.
Directed by Brad Bird who also wrote and helmed the first film, Incredibles 2 includes a returning voice cast of Craig T. Nelson, Sarah Vowell, Holly Hunter, John Ratzenberger, and Samuel L. Jackson while new additions include Bob Odenkirk, Isabella Rossellini, Catherine Keener, and Sophia Bush.
