David Gyasi Joins Cast for ‘Maleficent’ Sequel
The story of our favorite vengeful fairy, Maleficent, isn’t done being told as a sequel to the 2014 live-action adaption of Sleeping Beauty focused on what turned Maleficent “evil” in the first place. Even though the sequel is currently filming, a report from Deadline confirms that British actor David Gyasi has officially joined the cast.
If Gyasi’s face looks familiar it’s because he has a substantial amount of credits to his name. You may recognize him from his roles in critically-acclaimed films like Interstellar, Cloud Atlas, and Annihilation. Most recently, he has portrayed the Greek hero Achilles in the Netflix/BBC series Troy: Fall Of A City.
Gyasi joins an already star-studded cast that includes its returning stars Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning as well as new additions Michelle Pfeiffer, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Ed Skrein to name a few.
