Amazon recently acquired the rights to a Lord of the Rings tv show and fans and theorists alike have been attempting to figure out exactly which aspect of the vast LOTR universe that the company will decide is best to center their Tolkien-inspired vision around. Rumors have begun to fly left and right and according to popular LOTR fansite The One Ring, the show is going to revolve around telling the life tale of a young Aragorn, specifically around the time of the character during the original trilogy.
In a thread on Twitter, the site explained why the possibility for a show based on the Ranger’s early years would be possible, and they even mapped out various routes that they series could choose to follow. The Twitter thread can be found here.
Now, it is very important to remember that while the site says they have confirmed sources, there has been no official announcement from Amazon themselves at this current time so this is technically still nothing more than hearsay and speculation. However, if the company did choose to take this avenue with the series, it would be a fantastic way to connect to already established characters and stories from before while also still being new and allowing the show to be its own thing without completely redoing and retelling the LOTR story that we already know.
