#SOTD: Anderson .Paak – “Bubblin”
Ahead of his yet untitled album, the electric force known as Anderson .Paak has released the new high-octane single, “Bubblin”, now his second song release of 2018. The kinetic track, produced by Jhalil Beats and Antman Wonder, has both the tamped-up energy and pace of a spy movie. In fact, Paak remarked in a recent interview that it “sounded like some black 007 action adventure. high speed chase type of music”.
If you’re looking for conscious, soul-searching material here, you won’t find it. This joint is all about flossing and makes no apologies for it:
Had enough of it, whoa
Watch what you’re sayin’
All that poppin’ and shakin’
Got me hot as a laser
My posse deep in our rating
We act a fool for the paper
Had a dream and I made it
El Camino on Dayton’s
“Bubblin” premiered on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 Radio show, as a World Record. The song’s visuals, directed by Los Angeles born filmmaker and artist Calmatic, features Paak, a zebra and an ATM that spits out what seems like an endless amount of cash.
