James Ransone has been cast to play the adult version of Eddie Kaspbrak in IT: Chapter Two. He will be joining fellow Losers’ Club members Jessica Chastain, Bill Hader, and James McAvoy. Chastain, Hader, and McAvoy will play adult versions of Beverly Marsh, Richie Tozier, and Bill Denbrough.
Ransone just wrapped on Season 1 of the Hulu series The First, which he stars opposite Sean Penn and Natascha McElhone. Ransone has also starred in HBO’s Mosaic and Amazon’s Bosch as well as movies Sinister 2 and Tangerine. He is repped by Underground and attorney Alex Kohner.
The sequel will follow the Losers’ Club (now adults), tormented by Pennywise when he resurfaces 27 years after the events of the first film. Most of the members have since left Derry and have found great success in their lives, but they come back to Derry to end Pennywise’s terror on Derry.
Andy Muschietti is returning to helm the sequel. Bill Skarsgård will be reprising his role as the villainous clown. The younger cast are rumoured to return in their roles in potential flashbacks in the sequel. The remaining members that have not been cast are; Stanley Uris, Ben Hanscom, and Mike Hanlon.
Production will start this summer in Toronto, Canada.
