Edgar Ramirez and Pedro Pascal Set To Star in Spy Drama ‘Wasp Network’ for Olivier Assayas

Edgar Ramirez (The Girl on the TrainHands of Stone) and Pedro Pascal (Game of ThronesKingsman: The Golden Circle) are set to co-star in the film spy thriller Wasp Network. A film adaptation of the book ‘The Last Soldiers of the Cold War‘ written by Brazilian journalist and writer Fernando Morais, published in 2011. The book set in the 90s tells the true story of a violent anti-Castro group based in Florida which carried out hundreds of military attacks on Cuba, bombing hotels and shooting up Cuban beaches with machine guns. Requiring the Cuban government to develop the Wasp Network – a group of men and women, whose sole mission was to infiltrate those organizations.

The film will be written and directed by Olivier Assayas ( Personal Shopper, Clouds of Sils Maria) with executive producers Lourenco Sant’Anna and Sophie Mas. Wasp Network is set to explore and unveil a hidden part of history dealing with the ramifications of the Cold War during the 1990s in Central America and relations between the U.S. government.

The film is set to be introduced by IMR International to foreign buyers in Cannes.
