#SOTD: Rae Sremmurd ft The Weeknd – “Bedtime Stories”

Rae Sremmurd’s Slim Jxmmi and Swae Lee are no strangers to the fast life. After making some local noise in their native Mississippi, they travelled to some other states, to perform some of their material and audition for various shows, including BET’s iconic 106 and Park. Two years later, after enduring a few of life’s trials and tribulations, as well as some group changes, the real life brothers signed a record deal with Mike Will Made It’s label, imprint. Within the following three years, they released two hit albums; 2015’s SremmLife and 2016’s SremmLife 2. The group’s third album SR3MM has arrived with a twist – it is organized into a triple album. The core of SR3MM is a joint set that features both artists as a duo and there is also one solo set each (Swae Lee’s melodic Swaecation and Jxmmi’s rougher Jxmtro).

SR3MM’s first single is the bass-heavy Bedtime Stories, a catchy radio-friendly track produced by Marz and Mike Will Made It. For this record, the group tapped Canadian crooner, The Weeknd, to provide the assist, resulting in a smoothed out cut that has the group professing how different they are from the other guys that want a lady’s affection:

You feel every word that I’m sayin’
Hundred somethin’ thousand on the table
I ain’t mean to throw it in your face
I don’t wanna play those games
I’m not tryna hide my pain

You can buy or stream “Bedtime Stories” on a variety of music services, including Spotify or Google Music.
