Title for Jordan Peele’s Next Film Revealed; Lupita Nyong’o and Winston Duke Eyed for Lead Roles

Coming off his fresh Oscar win for best original screenplay- Jordan Peele has just released the teaser poster for his next project. Suddenly, moviegoers across the country just had their Tuesday evening spiced up. The simple poster shows two female profiles mirrored in ink on a canvas like surface. He has titled his second film in the same vein as Get Out: short, sweet, and to the point. Us is already less than a year away and there could not be more excitement. To make things more interesting, Variety has just revealed exclusive casting information regarding the lead roles. Character and plot details for Us are still widely unknown, but the site can confirm that Lupita Nyong’o is in current negations to star with Winston Duke and Elisabeth Moss also being eyed for lead roles. This is not official casting confirmation, but it would be hard to imagine anybody turning down a role in the next Peele production.

Nyong’o and Duke surely need no introduction by now. Duke stole fans away in his film acting debut as M’baku in Black Panther. Nyong’o also owned the screen in Black Panther but has other huge films under her name such as Star Wars: The Force Awakens, The Jungle Book, and 12 Years a Slave (which she won an Oscar for). Best known for her role in AMC’s Mad Men, Moss can currently be seen leading The Handmaid’s Tale on Hulu. These three names under Peele’s direction is already enough to get more than plenty of seats sold in theaters.

This is the next film under Peele’s first look deal with Universal Pictures. He signed this deal with his Monkeypaw Productions and will continue to produce for the company alongside esteemed horror producer Jason Blum. In case one needs the information told to them once more, yes Peele will write and direct and Us is expected to be another social thriller. The film is already slated to release on March 15, 2019.
