EA Launching BioWare’s Anthem Next March
Since its reveal trailer at E3 2017, BioWare’s upcoming title Anthem has received little detail. During a recent call concerning financials, Electronic Arts’ CFO, Blake Jorgensen, provided a release window for the mysterious shooter. Anthem launches March 2019.
According to DualShockers, Jorgensen also divulged that the publisher’s expectations, perhaps with regards to copies sold, are moderate due to its status as a new IP. However, the publisher maintains its excitement for the forthcoming shooter, touting Anthem as “extremely unique.” Of the latter sentiment there is no doubt.
Information on the game is scarce. For certain, it’s an RPG with third-person shooting mechanics. Player characters, or Freelancers, are placed in Javelins, the name for Anthem’s exosuits. Javelins come in a variety of classes and can be customized to suit a player’s preferred look. Furthermore, the game’s tough but rewarding gameplay will match up to four players for an online multiplayer experience in a shared world, a world that apparently isn’t Earth.
With a relative release date now set and this year’s E3 looming, more details are bound to rise to the surface soon.
