‘Destiny 2’s’ Fall Expansion Will Have a New Game Mode
If you’re a fan of Destiny, you’ll probably remember how huge The Taken King expansion was for changing the direction of the game. In a quarterly earnings call this week, Bungie described that it expects for Destiny 2’s next expansion and some subsequent updates to be as groundbreaking for the sequel. Destiny 2: Warmind is due to release on May 8th, but the fall expansion (expected to launch alongside Season 4) will feature plenty new content.
The addition, according to Activision president Coddy Johnson, will include “what we think will be an incredibly engaging new gamemode, one that introduces a whole new style of play for the first-person shooter gaming generally and certainly for the shooter space that Destiny created.”
This information is vague, but this brand new game mode will hopefully bring more players back into Destiny 2, since much of its engagement has dropped. For now, Bungie says that we’ll be hearing more about the expansion and the new game mode during this year’s E3.
