Have you ever wanted to own “interactive” books based on your favourite Nintendo characters? Well, now you can thanks to Random House Books for Young Readers partnership with Nintendo in order to publish a string of children’s colouring and activity books – mazes, puzzles, stickers, and trivia – based on Nintendo characters and universes, like Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Splatoon, and Animal Crossing, among others.

So far, Random House has published two full-color sticker books Super Mario Official Sticker Book and The Legend of Zelda Official Sticker Book, with three more books from the partnership going on sale this July, Mario Time!, Link’s Book of Adventure, the Splatoon Official Sticker Book.

In a statement, Dennis Shealy, Editorial Director of Random House Books for Young Readers Licensed Publishing, shared his entushiasm with this partnership and the future it holds for the publishing world.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Nintendo to bring the whimsy and adventure of these worlds of the imaginations of our young readers. These activity books will let both new and established fans experience Nintendo characters in a whole new way.”

While Tom Prata, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Strategic Initiatives, shared his excitment for what this means in the videogame realm.

“This publishing partnership is an exciting way to bring the colorful worlds of Nintendo to young readers while encouraging creativity. We are always looking for ways to share our fun-loving characters with kids and families in unique ways.”
