Avengers: Infinity War just hit theaters last week and I’m not here to talk about whether you liked it or not but to discuss one of the best superhero compositions ever. As a Marvel fan, I can admit that when it came to their film scores, they felt rather weak. They aren’t usually as epic as I’d like them to be, they don’t give me goosebumps when I listen to it. It was rather recently when I watched the final Infinity War trailer where I realized how great The Avengers theme is. I don’t know why it hit me years later, but listening to it on my own I sometimes get chills because of how epic it is.

Alan Silvestri has composed music for countless great films such as the Back to the Future Trilogy, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Forrest Gump, Lilo & Stitch, and his two most recent ones, Ready Player One and Infinity War. His first composition for a superhero movie was Judge Dredd, which didn’t do too well. Hid next superhero project would be Captain America: The First Avenger and then you can guess what film he composed next. The man has been working for over four decades, 46 years to be exact, and he scored his first film at the age of 22.

The theme starts with an intensity that just quickly builds up. It sounds heroic and oddly enough something out of a comic book. The way the score is used in the 360° shot is simply perfection and the way they incorporated in the Infinity War trailer was nothing short of epic as many fans, including myself, realized how much of an impact it has.
