Colin Jost and Michael Che Will Host 2018 Emmy Awards
It has just been announced that Saturday Night Live cast members Michael Che and Colin Jost will be the hosts for the upcoming Emmy Awards that will be held early this fall.
Jost joined SNL as a writer back in 2005 while Che came aboard in 2013 and both have been nominated for writing Emmys for their work on the series. In 2014, the comedians moved from behind the camera to in front of it and they currently co-anchor Weekend Update, SNL‘s longest-running recurring sketch-dating all the way back to the first episode-that parodies current events. Both Jost and Che were also announced as head writers for the show last year.
NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt stated that “NBC is thrilled to be the home of this year’s Emmy Awards and with Colin and Michael in the driver’s seat as hosts, along with surprise appearances by other cast members of Saturday Night Live, I think we are in for one of the funniest awards shows in a long time.” SNL Mastermind Lorne Michaels is currently set to executive produce the show and nominations for the Emmys are expected to be released sometime in July.
