J.J. Abrams Introduces New Project ‘Overlord,’ Says ‘Cloverfield’ Sequel Underway For Theaters

American producer and director J.J. Abrams revealed at CinemaCon that a Cloverfield sequel “is in the works for theaters.”

Though mostly hush about the developing sequel, Abrams took the time to reveal a new project he’s working on titled Overlord.

Overlord is a sci-if film which sets during World Wide II. Abrams also shared new footage of the upcoming R-rated movie, which featured American paratroopers, on the eve of D-Day, being dropped behind a Nazi line during a serious mission. The paratroopers realize that there is more to the Nazi-filled village than a simple military operation.

“You are about to embark upon a great crusade. You will bring about the destruction of the German army. The eyes of the world are upon you,” a narrator says as the video opens with a shot of the paratroopers on a plane. — Deadline
