Titan Books will collaborate with Marvel and Insomniac Games to publish two tie-in books for Insomniac’s upcoming game: Spider-Man. The first book will be titled Spider-Man: Hostile Takeover, a prequel to the events of the game.

Titan Books stated in a recent interview with Polygon “Leading directly into the beginning of the game, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Hostile Takeover features some of Spidey’s most famous friends and foes, including the Shocker, Echo, the Blood Spider, J. Jonah Jameson, Mary Jane Watson, and Wilson Fisk – the Kingpin.”

The book will be written by author David Liss and the book will reveal the “Kingpin’s plan to gain an iron grip on New York City” and will explain the relationships and plot details that will be continued in game.

The second book will be an art book called Marvel’s Spider-Man: The Art of the Game, written by Paul Davies.

Spider-Man: Hostile Takeover will be released on August 21, 2018 just two weeks apart from the games release on September 7th. Spider-Man: The Art of the Game’s release will follow on September 11th.
