‘Black Lightning’ Executive Producer Denies Arrowverse Connection Rumors
You’ve heard that right. Black Lightning still has no connection to the current storylines of the Arrowverse and according to executive producerSalim Akil, they also have no plans of entering it either.
During a recent episode, characters Lynn and Pierce (played by Christine Adams and China Anne McClain respectively) brought up Vixen-who has been on Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl-which started speculation of the possibility of Black Lightning teaming up with some of the other CW heroes sometime soon. Akil, however, squashed those rumors in a recent statement saying that the references were just that: references.
“We are in our own world. We’re not in the Arrowverse. We’re not in the Supergirl universe. We’re in the Black Lightning universe. If there’s ever a crossover, Supergirl will come to Freeland, or Green Arrow will come to Freeland. We mentioned those other characters just to have fun. I thought it was just fun to tease the fans and have fun with the fans. We’re always trying to have a conversation with the fans and we’re also trying to have fun with them, so that was part of that.”
Are you glad that Black Lightning is being kept separate? Tell us what you think about it in the comments below!
