Zazie Beetz In Talks For Noah Hawley’s ‘Pale Blue Dot’
Zazie Beetz is in talks to join Jon Hamm and Natalie Portman in Fox Searchlight’s astronaut drama Pale Blue Dot. The film would mark the directorial debut of Legion and Fargo creator Noah Hawley.
The premise for the film is as follows:
Pale Blue Dot centers on a married astronaut (Portman) who returns to Earth after a mission and begins an affair with a fellow astronaut (Hamm). She heads into a downward spiral as she loses her connection to her family — a condition that can afflict those who spend a long time in space — and when her lover begins another affair with an astronaut trainee, the bottom drops out.
If negotiations go through, Beetz will the play the trainee caught in between the love triangle.
Reese Witherspoon, who was originally set to star in Portman’s role, will be producing the film alongside Bruna Papandrea.
Beetz first broke out onto the scene in Donald Glover’s FX series Atlanta, and will soon be appearing in Deadpool 2 as Neena Thurman, aka Domino, this May. Beetz can also be seen as recurring character Noelle on Netflix’s Easy.
