‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Beats ‘Black Panther’ in New Presale Ticket Record
While Black Panther has garnered many accolades since its premiere two months ago, unfortunately, there is one that the blockbuster will have to let go of. With less than two weeks until its release, Avengers: Infinity War is selling twice as many presale tickets on Fandango as Black Panther did, as well as the last seven MCU films combined by more than two to one.
Infinity War has already passed Furious 7 and become Fandango’s top all-time April pre-seller. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo stated that there’s a sequence in Infinity War that is much bigger than the airport scene from Civil War.
“We have an equivalent that’s like if you had a comic book and you open it up to your double panel and theyn you fold it out, and then you folded it out again and again, and you have another comic book laid out next to it.”
Black Panther has currently grossed over $670 million in North America and is the No. 1 superhero film of all time, (inflation not included) and has garnered more than $1.3 billion worldwide. Infinity War is currently tracked to open with more than $200 million in the states joining the ranks of only five other films to do so: The Avengers, Jurassic World, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and of course, Black Panther.
