Tiffany Haddish to Produce HBO Comedy Series ‘Unsubscribed’
Earlier this year, Tiffany Haddish signed a two-year, first-look deal with HBO, and now her first comedy series is officially in development.
The show is titled Unsubscribed, and it is described as “an examination of female blackness, beauty, and identity through a behind-the-scenes look at the Instagram hustle.” It is being produced by Haddish, and written by Xosha Roquemore (Difficult People, Divorce) and Danielle Henderson. This project will be Roquemore’s first writing gig, as she is mostly known for her acting work–more specifically as series regular Tamra Webb in Hulu’s The Mindy Project. She has also made appearances in feature films such as Precious and The Disaster Artist.
Haddish is having a pretty busy 2018–she was undeniably the breakout star of last year’s hit comedy Girls Trip, and currently stars opposite Tracy Morgan in the TBS comedy The Last O.G.. She is also set to voice one of the lead characters in the animated Netflix show Tuca & Bertie, and is also starring in Universal’s Night School alongside Kevin Hart which premieres in September. Her memoir The Last Black Unicorn debuted in December 2017 and made the New York Times best-selling list.
