FX Moves Forward With ‘Y: The Last Man’ Pilot Order

Three years after signing with FX and one year after landing Michael Green as the showrunner, it seems that Brian K. Vaughan’s Y: The Last Man will finally receive its pilot episode.

FX on Thursday announced that it has handed out a formal pilot order and signed on Aida Mashaka Croal to run the show along side Green. Color Force’s Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson and the series creator Brian Vaughan will executive produce and Melina Matsoukas will slated to direct the series.

Y: The Last Man, published by DC Comics/Vertigo, is one of the most critically acclaimed graphic novels of all time. The series was written and created by Vaughan and artist Pia Guerra. It ran for 60 issues and has been collected in multiple graphic novels. FX describes the upcoming series: “All of the men are dead. But one. Y traverses a world of women — exploring gender, race, class and survival.”
