Red Sonja has found its screenwriter.  

Deadline reports that Ashley Edward Miller has been announced as the screenwriter for the 1970 comic book Red Sonja.

Red Sonja, which is still in publication by Dynamite Entertainment, “wields swords and sorcery, is known as the she-devil with a sword.” Coming on the heels of Wonder Woman’s success, Red Sonja was fast-tracked into production by Millenium Films.

Miller has shared a statement after the announcement of his involvement in the film.

“It’s an exciting opportunity to faithfully adapt the amazing Hyborean world Robert E. Howard created, and inject it with Sonja’s intelligence, ferocity, and fearless humanity…I want people to love Sonja the way I love her, and walk out of the theater understanding why she’s so popular and enduring. Sonja is an icon.”

Miller is known for his work in Terminator: The Sarah Connor ChroniclesFringe, Thor, and X-Men: First Class.
