The Original ‘Punch-Out!!’ is Coming to the Nintendo Switch
The original, distressingly tough Punch-Out!! will be coming to the Nintendo Switch as part of Nintendo’s Arcade Archives line. So far, there’s only an announced Japanese release for March 30, but previous Arcade Archives releases indicate that there might be an American version to expect in the future.
Punch-Out!!, which has appeared in multiple variations since its debut in 1983, hosts a cast of cartoonish characters for Little Mac to fight. Most recently, it was featured as a game on the Wii U’s Virtual Console. Though the Switch doesn’t have a Virtual Console (yet! We’re keeping out fingers crossed.), it does feature multiple display options to capture the arcade feel of classic Punch-Out!! In the Arcade Archives version, players will be able to decide if they want to play the game either vertically or horizontally.
Soda Popinski, Mr. Sandman, and Little Mac will be swinging their way onto the Switch at the end of the month. What other classic arcade titles would you like to see rereleased? Let us know in the comments!
