Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star Chloe Bennet–who plays Daisy Johnson, aka Quake in the hit ABC show–has officially signed on to voice the lead character Yi in Pearl Studios’ (formerly known as Oriental DreamWorks) upcoming animated movie EverestThe movie won’t hit theaters until September 27 of 2019, and Bennet is the first actor to be cast so far. Everest will be the Shanghai-based studio’s first worldwide release, with Universal studios handling the distribution outside of China.

The movie is currently already in production at DreamWorks Animation, with Monsters, Inc. writer Jill Culton directing and Todd Wilderman co-directing. The screenplay was written by Will Davies and Irena Brignull, and Suzanne Buirgy is producing. Tim Johnson (Over the Hedge, Antz) has also signed on as executive producer.

Everest follows a group of outsiders in Shanghai who encounter a young Yeti named Everest. They embark on a 3,000-mile journey to help him get back home to his family in the Himalayas. Bennet is half-Chinese and while she grew up in Chicago, she actually launched her entertainment career in China before being discovered, so this seems like the perfect opportunity for her to make her voice acting debut.
