Karen Fukuhara, who you might recognize as Katana from Suicide Squad has officially joined the cast of Amazon’s upcoming superhero series The Boys. The Boys will be set in a universe where a group of vigilantes–commonly referred to as ‘the boys’–who dedicate themselves to take down corrupt superheroes who have more than embraced the wealth and fame that comes with having powers. Fukuhara will be playing Female, a young assassin with incredible fighting skills and superpowers who uses them in a mysterious way. When ‘the boys’ take her in, she slowly develops close relationships and gains a better understanding of what it means to be a human.
She will be joining a cast that includes Dominique McElligott, Chace Crawford, Jesse T. Usher and Nathan Mitchell, Erin Moriarty, and Antony Starr. She made her film debut in the DCEU’s Suicide Squad and has since then starred as Nori in the indie film Stray.
