CD Projekt Red Opens New Studio to Reinforce Development of ‘Cyberpunk 2077’
As we rapidly approach E3 2018, CD PROJEKT RED is adding fresh “creative firepower” to their development team of the long-anticipated Cyberpunk 2077.
Staying in character with its anticipated release date of “when it’s ready” which accompanied Cyberpunk 2077‘s release trailer way back in 2013, little has been revealed of the game. Yet in recent months a revelation of more details on the project is beginning to look more promising. Earlier this year, exactly 5 years from the trailers initial release, the long-dormant Twitter account reactivated, simply posting *beep* before resuming silence.
Today, we were given yet another sign alluding to an upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 announcement. CD PROJEKT RED introduced their new studio in Wroclaw, Poland. The new Poland team is bringing 18 industry veterans from Strange New Things to help tie together CD PROJEKT RED’s future and current endeavors.
The former head of the indie studio Strange New Things had this to say about the acquisition:
“We’re pretty hyped to be on the spearhead of this new office.” — says Paweł Zawodny, Head of Studio, CD PROJEKT RED Wrocław. “We know Wrocław inside out and it’s an amazing place to make games. The team is strong, and I’m sure we have both the experience and the creative firepower to make Cyberpunk 2077 an even better game.” — Zawodny adds.
