Live-Action ‘Lady and the Tramp’ Coming to Disney’s Streaming Service in 2019
The Lego Ninjago Movie director Charlie Bean has officially signed on to direct the live-action/CG hybrid remake of the Disney classic Lady and the Tramp. No additional details have been released as of right now, but we do know that it has a 2019 release date, and it will be going straight to the company’s planned streaming service. Set to produce the film is Brigham Taylor, who worked on Disney’s live action The Jungle Book.
Earlier this month the company also announced an upcoming live-action Star Wars series from Jon Favreau, which goes to show how seriously they are taking this streaming platform. The streaming service will include six movies per year from brands the company owns like Marvel, Pixar, and the Star Wars franchise
Bean has been an animator for some time now, having done work for Cartoon Network’s Dexter’s Laboratory and Samurai Jack, before making his feature film debut with The Lego Ninjago Movie.
