Krypton Series Premiere Countdown

Before the Man of Steel graces the earth and becomes one of the greatest superheroes known to man, there is Seg-El: his grandfather. Krypton, which debuts this Wednesday at 10 p.m. on Syfy, tells the story of young Seg-El (played by Cameron Cuffe) who bears not only the name of House of El which has been “ostracized and shamed,” but holds the key to a legacy which is yet to be fulfilled. When Adam Strange – a familiar hero in the DC comics- warns him of a threat to the planet which seeks to stop  Kal El from ever being born.

Brought to you by executive producers David S. Goyer (Man of Steel, The Dark Knight trilogy) and Cameron Welsh (Ash vs Evil Dead). The series chronicles the lives of Kryptonians two centuries before the birth of Superman, exploring a new take on villains like Brainiac and Doomsday. Along with characters with familiar last names like Lyta Zod portrayed by Georgina Campbell. Krypton seeks to tell the story through the introduction of a world, laws and familial lineage not seen before.

The allure of the show is in the fact that the audience is well aware of the fate of Krypton, however, this origin story, Cuff notes in an interview, “is the bridge between the great legacy of the past and the future”
